Description:

Black shell bead belt with six white outlined shell bead hexagons and three short bars at ends. Wrapped edges, ends of belt secured with extra row of wefts like among trapezoidal cuffs. Received by the institution in 1913, collected by Frank G. Speck from a Frenchman who had married a Mohawk woman, he purchased it from an old chief of the Mohawk at Oka.
